Craig Revelle - Finish Line Web Design
July 28, 2010

With well over half the season over with, Danny O'Brien hasn't had a typical Danny O'Brien like season, but with just over a month left in the season at Cornwall Motor Speedway, Danny sits second in points, only 19 point behind the current leader and looking for some consistent finishes down the month of the season.
Just one race was on the Danny O'Brien race schedule for this weekend, and that was a scheduled 30 lap feature at the Cornwall Motor Speedway where
O'Brien posted a sixth place in his Global Warranty, 1000 Islands RV, Pat's Radiator, 103.7 BOB FM, Jackson's Landscaping & Property Maintenance, Murdock's Cement Finishing, Stover Bus Lines, Kendrick Racing team prepared Bicknell car.
“We need to have better finishes than we did tonight if we are going to win this championship”, admits O'Brien. “We finished one spot behind the current point leader tonight, and we can't afford to have that happen again”.
This coming weekend, O'Brien will make his first appearance of the season at the Mohawk Raceway in Hogansburg, New York on Friday night for a 50 lap main event. On Sunday Danny O'Brien and the Global Warranty team will head back to Cornwall for a 125 lap Canadian National Series, paying $5000 to win.
“We are looking forward to making our first trip to the Mohawk Raceway this season, says O'Brien. “It is a beautiful facility, and they have done a lot of hard work making that place a premiere racing facility”.

Demar Aggregates Trucks, Delaware Super Stocks, NASCAR Late Models, Transmission Direct Enduro
July 28, 2010 (London, Ontario) We hate to admit it but we're more than halfway through the racing season. Summer goes by too fast! So join us Friday July 30th and savour every minute of the action as we feature four of our exciting racing divisions at Delaware Speedway.
Friday is Exeter Toyota Night at Delaware Speedway. Exeter Toyota is the official supplier of Delaware's vehicles including our pace truck.
Transmission Direct Enduro fans and drivers can't wait to get their cars back on the track and Friday night, they'll do it. David McCullough leads the deep pool of Enduro competitors in points with his brother Derek in third spot. Ed Jeffrey separates the siblings by ranking second.
Steve Robblee will be looking to gain some lost ground in his second NASCAR Late Model race since coming back off an injury. Robblee racked up a win and a second place finish last weekend but he currently sits 8th in the points race. Ron Sheridan is on top with three wins in '10 and a handful of top-five finishes.
Jason Lidster is your Delaware Super Stocks leader with Kris Lawrence and Steve Smith just a few points off the pace and looking for improve their fortunes on Friday night.
Paul Fothergill now has the lead in Demar Aggregates Trucks but there's no doubt that Gary Adrieaensen will want the top spot back on Friday.
The spectator gates open at 6 pm and we're serving up hotdogs for just a toonie from 6-7 pm.
Sharpie lets the green flag fly at 8 pm sharp.

FOUR DIVISIONS ON THE HALF-MILE FRIDAY NIGHT!

By Tommy Goudge (July 28, 2010) - Two big events hit the track this Friday and Saturday night at Ohsweken Speedway when Arrow Express presents the return of the World of Outlaws Sprint series to the Styres-owned facility!
Kasey Kahne Racing team driver Joey Saldana of Brownsburg, Indiana currently leads the World of Outlaws Sprint series standings, with ten wins and twenty-six Top Five finishes in forty-four A-Main starts this season. Saldana set a new all time track record at Ohsweken in his last visit, with a 12.420 second lap in time trials on July 29, 2009.
Twenty-time series champion Steve Kinser joined forces with Tony Stewart Racing over the off season and has enjoyed a successful season, with six feature wins and twenty-seven Top Five finishes. The Bloomington, Indiana driver sits second in series standings, just twenty-nine markers behind entering the Ohsweken weekend.
Jason Meyers of Clovis, California is third in the World of Outlaws standings and has seven feature wins this year. Meyers got a World of Outlaws feature win at Ohsweken last year on July 28.
Four-time series champion Donny Schatz of Fargo, North Dakota is fourth in the World of Outlaws standings, and has two feature wins this season. Schatz has finished second in all three of his starts at Ohsweken, including both last season.
Bartlett, Tennessee's Jason Sides is fifth in the World of Outlaws standings and has three feature wins this year. Sides claimed the “Six Nations Showdown” feature win at Ohsweken in both 2007 and 2009, and owns three of the four total World of Outlaws feature wins to date at Ohsweken.
Other World of Outlaws regulars expected this weekend include Paul McMahan of Tennessee, Pennsylvania driver Lucas Wolfe, Minnesota's Craig Dollansky, Kraig Kinser of Indiana, Missouri driver Danny Lasoski, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. of Texas, Ohio driver Chad Kemenah, Arizona's Ben Gregg, and Toni Lutar of British Columbia.
Ontario drivers set to race this weekend include Ohsweken's own Glenn Styres, 2009 track champion Tom Huppunen of Fenwick, Father/Daughter team Rick and April Wilson, Port Stanley's Chris Durand, rookie driver Stevin Goldner of Aylmer, and a host of others.
Regional racers such as New Yorkers Jessica Zemken and Justin Barger, and Michigan driver Dustin Daggett are also expected in attendance. Zemken's Tony Stewart Racing ride has local support from Corr/Pak Merchandising - the presenting sponsor of weekly Sprint Car racing at Ohsweken. Daggett won the most recent big event at Ohsweken on July 2 when he claimed the Northern Summer Nationals title.
Ohsweken's weekly ESSO Thunder Stock racers will also be in action on Friday night, while the Mod-Lite Stars Championship Tour North will visit on Saturday during the "Six Nations Showdown" events.
Billy Bleich of Port Robinson still leads the ESSO Thunder Stock standings, but he saw his lead dwindle in the last event. Cambridge driver Jamie Cox got his first feature win of the season on July 17, and is now just twelve points behind Bleich. Caledonia's Lee Winger is third in the standings, followed by Jeremy Bean of Stoney Creek, and Caledonia driver Ryan Dinning. Billy Bleich and Devin Habiuk each have two feature wins in the ESSO Thunder Stocks this season, while Jamie Cox, Lee Winger, Shayne Pierce, and Mike Thorne have one each.
Paul Klager of Beamsville claimed the most recent round of Mod-Lite Stars Championship Tour North racing at Ohsweken on May 21, and he'd love to repeat this weekend. Hicken, who became a first time winner in the prestigious series this season at Oyster Bed Speedway, remains in reach of Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS), followed by Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE) winner of the IWK 250, and surprise contender Chris Hughes (Brackley Beach,PE) who has been having the best season of his career in 2010. Other hometown favourites also include Greg Proude (Springvale, PE), who with better luck could possibly be sitting on top of the standings. Proude remains in reach of the championship as he is less than 100 points behind Turple.
Fans will also be treated to 30 laps of Modified feature racing and 25 laps of Outlaw racing prior to the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour main feature, the Lucas Oil 100!
Ticket Information
Tickets for the Lucas OIl 100 are $25.00 for adults, youth tickets are $15.00, children 12 and under are admitted for free. Pit passes are $30 and restricted to those 16 and older. Tickets will be available at the gates on race day.

Billings in the Midst of Character Building Season; Bad Luck Strikes Again
Craig Revelle - Finish Line Web Design
July 26, 2010

To say that it's been a roller coaster season for Matt Billings would be a definite understatement. Billings has had some success, posting three wins early in his rookie season, but bad luck seems to be keeping the Billings team out of victory lane during mid summer. One thing is for certain though; Matt Billings will bounce back, and will soon be winning races as he has done at all levels of racing that he has competed in.
Originally, the Billings team had two events planned this weekend. First it was off to Chapman's Can Am Motorsports Park on Friday night, and then to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday. The Modifieds had a rare Saturday night off at Brockville. Those plans soon changed when a tornado ripped through Lafargeville, New York on Wednesday causing heavy damage to Chapman's Can Am Motorsports Park forcing officials to cancel their racing program for the weekend.
“It is really unfortunate what happened over at Can Am last week”, says Billings. “I know the owners, and all of the staff put a lot of work into that place to make it and they didn't need to have that happen”, but I understand things are back on track, and I am looking forward to going back next week”.
On Sunday at Cornwall, Billings started the 30-lap feature from the 13th place, and had some work to do to get to the front. Billings was confident with his car after the practice session before the feature, and was looking to work through the field. Just a few laps into the race, Billings was caught up in a wreck in turn one and two, and had to pit for repairs. The team made some repairs, and returned to the track, but lost a lap in the pits. Billings was scored with a 19th place finish.
“I think we had a really good car for tonight, but unfortunately we didn't get a chance to show it”, says Billings. “This is such a small track, and things happen so fast. It can be frustrating, but we will back next week looking for much better results”.
Next weekend, the Billings team will be back at Can Am on Friday night, then they return to the Brockville Ontario Speedway on Saturday night. On Sunday at Cornwall the Billings team will have their Billings Automotive, Stealth Racewear, Race 101, Turn One High Performance Steering Systems, Pastime Motors, Babe Design, Finish Line Web Design, Carquest and Engine Research sponsored Bicknell car ready for a 125 lap feature for the Canadian National series paying $5000 to the winner.

Frank, 48, was the winner - a very happy and relieved winner - of last year's WoO LMS stop at the semi-banked track. He snapped a frustrating 15-month, 62-race winless streak with the victory, which also marked his first-ever triumph in more than a decade of special-event appearances at Muskingum County.
“We needed that win (at MCR) last year more than anybody can believe,” said Frank, fondly recalling the track's 2009 WoO LMS event that was run on Aug. 20 after being postponed one month by rain. “We were really struggling, and when you struggle your confidence gets down and you just keep falling behind. You need wins to make everybody feel better and put some money in the bank account, which we definitely needed last year - and still need right now.”
Indeed, Frank rolls back to Muskingum County in search of another slump-busting score in the $10,000-to-win 'Pepsi 50.' He won the WoO LMS 'Buckeye 100' at Ohio's K-C Raceway that immediately followed last year's event at MCR but hasn't reached Victory Lane since, saddling him with a losing streak that reached 37 races after he finished seventh in the opening night of Ohio-Pennsylvania Speedweek on Tuesday (July 27) at Central PA Speedway in Clearfield, Pa.
Frank hit paydirt in last year's WoO LMS show at Muskingum after going back to basics by 'borrowing' a 2005-vintage Rocket chassis from western Pennsylvania racer Chad Valone and assembling it with his own parts. He's not exactly duplicating that plan of attack this year, but he has brought out a new car - well, a car new to him - for Ohio-Pennsylvania Speedweek in hopes of shaking him out of his doldrums. Frank recently purchased a 2009 Rocket chassis from Pennsylvanian Bob Close that was driven successfully last season by young talent Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, Pa., and plans to enter it in all of this week's Outlaw events.
“When I found out Close didn't want (the car) I said, 'I'll take it,'” said Frank, who assumed ownership of Valone's '05 machine after his win outburst last year and just sold it this month to an upstate New York crate Late Model racer. “I knew it was a good car - Satterlee won a lot of races and ran good in some Outlaw shows with it - so I figured we'd put it together and try it.”
Frank won a weekly dirt Late Model feature on July 23 at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., in his first start with the former Satterlee mount, and on Tuesday night at Central PA he started from the pole position and led the first five laps of the 40-lap A-Main before fading. He thinks he has a potential winner under him, but the hard-nosed owner-operator knows he also needs some breaks to go his way like in his big Muskingum County moment 11 months ago.
“The car was good last year (at MCR) and we did everything right to get in position to win - we drew the right time-trial number, qualified good and redrew the outside pole for the feature,” said Frank. “But my tires were probably a factor in how we ran - and really, we picked them by mistake. We didn't have the tires we wanted to run ready, so we put a different tire on than everybody else. We were softer (on compound choice) and it made a big difference.
“It just goes to show you that everything's got to go your way to win these things.”
Frank controlled last year's 40-lap A-Main at MCR, a track that had always proved problematic for him. He concedes that he didn't sign in that evening with an especially good feeling that his fortunes were about to turn around.
“I've never really run all that good at Muskingum, so when we won it was kind of a surprise,” said Frank, who through 29 WoO LMS events this season was ranked ninth in the points standings with four top-five and 14 top-10 finishes. “I don't dislike Muskingum; I ran there quite a bit with the STARS (Renegade) Series for a bunch of years, and it's always been a pretty racy place. But it's just been one of those tracks that we couldn't get a handle on - until last year.
“I'm just hoping we can run the same way there (this Saturday night) and get on the same kind of roll again.”
Frank is part of the powerful traveling WoO LMS band that will invade Muskingum for the third consecutive season. He'll be joined by former champions Steve Francis of Ashland, Ky., who won the tour's 2008 event at MCR, Josh Richards of Shinnston, W.Va., Tim McCreadie of Watertown, N.Y., and Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky., as well as Shane Clanton of Fayetteville, Ga., Rick Eckert of York, Pa., Clint Smith of Senoia, Ga., Tim Fuller of Watertown, N.Y., Russell King of Bristolville, Ohio, rookie sensation Austin Hubbard of Seaford, Del., Brent Robinson of Smithfield, Va., and rookie Jill George of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Muskingum's talented field is also expected to include the track owner's son and grandson - dirt Late Model superstar Donnie Moran of Dresden, Ohio, and his 15-year-old son Devin, who was victorious recently at the oval. Others with plans to compete include Rick 'Boom' Briggs of Bear Lake, Pa., Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, Pa., Bart Hartman of Zanesville, Ohio, Robbie Blair of Titusville, Pa., Doug Drown of Wooster, Ohio, and Doug Dodd of Cambridge, Ohio.
Saturday's program will see pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the spectator gates unlocked at 4 p.m. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
General admission is $25, with kids 6-11 admitted for $5 and children 5-and-under free of charge. Reserved seats are available in the top two rows of the grandstand for an additional $5, and pit passes will be $40.

Chub Frank Shoots For Another Turnaround Victory At
Muskingum County Speedway
This Saturday Night (July 31)

ZANESVILLE, OH - July 28, 2010 - Can lightning strike twice for Chub Frank at Muskingum County Speedway?
That's what the veteran driver from Bear Lake, Pa., will be hoping for this Saturday night (July 31) when the World of Outlaws Late Model Series returns to Ronnie Moran's three-eighths-mile oval in central Ohio.

(Halifax, NS - July 28, 2010) Scotia Speedworld's Weekly Racing Series is rounding the mid-way point of the season and contenders for division Championships have emerged. Action on the track is only going to heat up as these contenders want to gain every advantage they can on their competition. This Friday five divisions of hotrods will see action under the lights at the 3/10 mile oval. Heat races to determine starting positions for each division get underway at 7:00pm with feature racing to follow immediately after. Gates open at 5:00pm
It was an exciting event last week for the Sportsman cars. A young Russell Smith JR (Lakeside) piloted a Sportsman car for the first time in his career, to the amazement of all in attendance, the first-timer pulled off a win in Scotia's top class. Another youngster Mike Alexander (Cole Harbour) also found himself in victory lane, coming in second, a season high finish for the rookie who has also been very impressive this season. Steve Ross (Waverly) remains top dog in the points, with Alexander 20 markers behind.
Steve Pye (Lantz) leads the Legends point standings but he has lots of competition still to beat if he wants to take home the big trophy. The top 5 Legend drivers are all within 28 markers of Pye. Justin MacNeill (Bedford) sits just outside the top 5 and as a former division champion he should not be overlooked as a strong contender. MacNeill has proven that he can win and the top 5 will be keeping close eyes on his #10.
Russell Smith JR, yes our first time Sportsman winner, hopped in his regular ride, the #144 Lightning car following his incredible debut in the top series and put on another show for the fans taking the checkers twice in one night. Now this gives new meaning to Tim Terry's double down! Scotia Speedworld has been open for 23 years and as far back as our records go no one has ever won two features in two classes on the same night! It was a historic night for all involved. Not surprisingly Smith JR leads the Tirecraft Lightning division chase for the title. Smith JR holds a healthy 38 point lead over his closest competitor Nick Hurshman (St. Margret's Bay)
The Tirecraft Thunder cars also have a good battle for the championship emerging at the half way point of the season. The top four cars seem to have pulled away from the rest of the 31 car field with a 64 point advantage on 5th position. Tylor Hawes (Porter's Lake) leads the way and has a slim margin over second in points Ross Harvie (Kennetcook). This four cylinder class will offer some great excitement down the back stretch of the season.
The Trucks division is in its rookie season at Scotia Speedworld, but action has been hot, so don't mistake any of these Truck drivers for rookies! 7 trucks have competed regularly in the class but it is two brothers who will take sibling rivalry to the next level as they battle for the Championship and history books becoming the first Champion of the Truck class. Gordon Ritchie (Milford Station) holds a 23 point lead over Brother Wayne (Stewiake). Big trophy, big title, history and a mix of two brothers going head to head ensures this class will be one to watch for the remainder of the season!
Admission for the Weekly Racing Series is $12.00 for adults; $2.00 for youth aged 8-15; children 7 and under are admitted free. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $15.00 and restricted to those 16 and older. Tickets are available at the gate on race day. Mr. DIRTcar Championship Series Events Showcased On Hot August Nights

Ohsweken, ON--July 29, 2010- Build it and they will come. Glenn Styres did exactly that when he constructed Ohsweken Speedway right in his backyard in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada with the intent of having the best sprint car drivers in the world race at his track. Again in 2010, the World of Outlaws will converge on the always racy 3/8-mile in Ontario for two full nights of racing on Friday, July 30 and Saturday, July 31 with $10,000 awaiting the winner each night.
Jason Meyers and Jason Sides split wins at Ohsweken last season with Meyers taking the opener and Sides the finale. Sides is the winningest driver with the World of Outlaws at Ohsweken Speedway, having taking the checkered flag twice in the three races the series has contested at the track dating back to 2007. In fact, Sides has led in each and every one of those feature events. He was running second last season in the opener when a piece of debris cut a tire on his machine, forcing him to the work area. The veteran restarted at the tail of the field and charged all the way back to finish eighth.
Meyers, who was caught up in a first-lap wreck in his debut at Ohsweken in 2007, made up for that last season by winning the opener and finished fourth in the finale. He took the lead from Sides on the 10th lap and would lead the final 21 circuits to score the win over Donny Schatz and Craig Dollansky. Meyers is currently second in wins this season with seven and is third in points, just 18 markers out of second and 47 out of the lead as he chases his first title.
Donny Schatz, the four-time and defending World of Outlaws champion, has been the most consistent driver at Ohsweken Speedway with the series, having finished second in all three events at Ohsweken Speedway dating back to 2007. The North Dakota native has won twice this season and is currently fourth in points.
Joey Saldana leads the series into Ohsweken on the strength of 10 A-Feature wins as he chases his first series title, with 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser hot on his heels, just 29 markers out of the top spot as he seeks his record 21st championship. Kinser is the most recent winner on the tour, taking the checkered flag on Tuesday night in the series debut at Autodrome Drummond in Quebec.
A full racing program is on tap each night this weekend at Ohsweken Speedway, with time trials, heat races, a dash, the Last Chance Showdown and a 30-lap A-Feature event paying $10,000 to-win both on Friday, July 30 and Saturday, July 31.
The Buzz:
• Jason Sides looks to add to his strong track record at Ohsweken Speedway, where he has won twice and finished eighth. He has led more laps at the track than any other driver, pacing the field for 52 laps in his three starts.

• Steve Kinser looks to add Ohsweken Speedway to the amazing list of speedways he has won at over the years. He has finished fourth twice at the track and has been among the Top-10 in all three of his starts at the 3/8-mile.
• Joey Saldana has finished sixth in two of his three starts at Ohsweken Speedway. He has one win this season on a 3/8-mile track with that coming at Dodge City Raceway Park
• Danny Lasoski has three Top-10 finishes in three starts at Ohsweken, with one of those being a Top-Five in his debut at the track in 2007.
• Craig Dollansky has finished third twice along with seventh at the 3/8-mile as he looks for his first win at the track.
• Paul McMahan will make his first World of Outlaws start at Ohsweken Speedway since 2007 this weekend. The veteran has finished in the Top-Five in 10 of the last 12 races for the series to lead all drivers during that span.
• Jac Haudenschild will miss the event as he continues to recover from a broken right hand suffered in a vicious wreck earlier this month.
• Kraig Kinser competed at Ohsweken Speedway for the first two times last season finishing ninth and 11th.
• Lucas Wolfe finished sixth at Ohsweken Speedway last season in his second start at the track. He has 13 Top-Five finishes this season as he closes in on his first World of Outlaws win.

One year ago: Jason Meyers and Jason Sides split wins at Ohsweken Speedway. In the opener, Sides led early, before Meyers got around him on the high side of turn two and quickly opened a four-car length advantage. Sides began to pull away on the eighth lap, as he entered lapped traffic. On the ninth lap, Meyers nearly took the lead in turn two as a lapped machine stopped in front of Sides, bringing out another caution. On the restart on the 10th, Meyers again went high in turns one and two and pulled even with Sides, with the latter again leading down the back straightaway. As they entered turn three Meyers took the lead with Sides quickly battling back. Meyers would withstand a charge from Donny Schatz late in the race to score the win, with Craig Dollansky third, Steve Kinser fourth and Jac Haudenschild fifth.
In the finale, Dollansky led early, before Sides used a strong restart on the 10th lap to get along sides the leader, nearly taking the top spot from him in turns one and two and then taking the lead as the pair powered their way through turns three and four. Sides quickly pulled away once in front. He was in lapped traffic on the eighth go-around, though the second caution of the night came on the 10th lap giving him clear track to work with. Sides began to pull away with 10 laps remaining as Dollansky and Schatz battled for the second spot. The leader found himself in lapped traffic the last couple of laps, but weaved his way through the slower machines en route to the victory, with Schatz second,
