Just one race was schedule for Joey Ladouceur and his Alexandria, Ontario based DIRTcar Pro Stock team this past weekend, and that gave Ladouceur, his wife Josée and family a chance to celebrate their 5th Wedding Anniversary, before heading to the Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday night.
In his qualifying heat, Ladouceur started from the the fifth position and quickly worked his way to the front of the pack in his Coffrage 20-20 Racing, Mr. Radiator Auto Service, Fence Depot, Fastline Performance, Glengarry Truck Centre. Minimax Transportation, and PM Promotions, Stinger X Chassis. Going into the first turn Ladouceur passed two cars using the inside groove moving him into third place. Before lap one had completed, he was up to second and began chasing the leader down. On a restart, Ladouceur made a pass for the lead and never looked back.
In the Pro Stock feature, Ladouceur rolled off the starting grid from the 12th position, and

once again started working through the field before inadvertent contact put Ladouceur's Pro Stock into the wall. Ladouceur was able to continue after repairs, but was able to come back as high as his original 12th place starting position at the checkered flag.
“The car was really good after the heat race, and I think we had a good car for the feature as well, but after the contact with the wall, we were done”, stated a disappointed Ladouceur after the race.
This coming weekend, a pair of events are scheduled for Ladouceur and team. First up is the Mohawk Raceway on Friday night for a Mohawk Race Parts 50 lap Series race, followed by a regular show at Cornwall Motor Speedway.

Lima, OH-July 14, 2010- Growing up in Ohio, Dale Blaney looked up to Brad Doty as he had the chance to watch the Hall of Famer race numerous times over the years in their home state. While Blaney never got to race against him, he watched his brother compete against Doty and gained a great respect for the fellow Ohio native. Blaney, who has won some big races in his career, added another to that list on Wednesday night as he was victorious in The 22nd Annual Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic Presented by Racing Optics at Limaland Motorsports Park in front of the largest crowd in the track's storied history.
For Blaney, it was his second win in the Brad Doty Classic, though his first with the event being under the World of Outlaws sanction and first since the event was moved to Limaland Motorsports Park, where he has won a number of times in his career. The victory on Wednesday night was worth $10,000 to the native of Hartford, Ohio and was his fifth with the World of Outlaws.
"This is awesome," said Blaney. "I won this race a long, long time ago when it was an All Star race at Attica (Raceway Park). I've been in contention here a couple of times and ran a couple of times in the Top-10. I love this place when it gets like this, slick, with a little cushion, a little bottom and a little middle. I've made more laps than probably most everybody at this place, so that was crucial. This is a very special win."
Blaney started on the pole in the Ti-22 Performance Maxim after winning the dash and beat fellow front row starter Kraig Kinser into turn one at the drop of the green. He quickly began to pull away when the first caution of the night flew on the sixth lap. The veteran was out front for two cautions and one red flag, choosing the low side of the ¼-mile bullring each time on the double file restarts. On a lap-20 restart, Paul McMahan inched ahead of Blaney in turn one, though Blaney blasted back by him in turn two and was credited with officially leading that lap and all 40 circuits on the night.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 15, 2010) - NASCAR Finalist Division II dirt track racer Jason Miller is dealing in multiple racing ventures this season. Two tracks, two cars with two owners, two different tiers of NASCAR competition, and a successful chassis business keep the all-around racer humming. He's also a full-time mechanic for a growing trucking company. His pleasant demeanor hides a full load of responsibilities that he handles with an “all in a day's work” attitude.
After flirting inside the top 20 of NASCAR Division II points, Miller, 35, of Osceola, Wis., could be a midseason “sleeper” in his track and Finalist points races as makeups for multiple weather-delayed events are on the horizon.
The new NASCAR Finalist national recognition program focuses on the divisions outside of the Feature Division at each NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track. Points are kept separately for dirt and asphalt tracks. A NASCAR-licensed driver's best 14 finishes are counted toward their final points total for the year.
Each track in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series designates its top division as its Feature Division, and assigns its remaining divisions a designation of II, III, IV or V. The Finalist Program was established this season to recognize the drivers in those latter divisions.
Miller is in a tight track points race with Ron Schreiner in the NASCAR Division II Amsoil Modified Division standings at Cedar Lake Speedway, a .375-mile banked clay oval in New Richmond, Wis. He jumped to 19th in NASCAR Division II points standings this week, with two wins, six top fives and six top 10s in six starts.
Dirt-track NASCAR Finalist Division leaders entering this weekend include Division II Jesse Sobbing, I-80 Speedway, Greenwood, Neb.; Division III, Brad Derry, I-80 Speedway; Division IV, Joe Baker, I-80 Speedway; and Division V, Andy Wilkinson, Junction Motor Speedway, McCool Junction, Neb.
NASCAR asphalt division leaders include Division II Derek Stoltz, Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C.; Division III, Matt Galko, Stafford Motor Speedway, Stafford Springs, Conn.; Division IV, Tim Hollen, Raceway Park, Shakopee, Minn.; and Division V, Doug Schmitz, Raceway Park.

At Cedar Lake each Saturday, Miller drives for owners Ray and Lynn Olson. The car is crewed by the Olsons and the driver's father, Roy Miller. The car is sponsored by the Olson's Barole Trucking Company, Whiplash Graphics, Engler Masonry, Aero Wheels, Rock Star Energy Drink, and the driver-built Matrix Chassis.
Miller also competes at Kopellah Speedway, a .250-mile flat dirt track in St. Croix Falls, Wisc., each Friday in the Midwest Modified Division - the track's Feature Division. There he is in a close race for the track points lead with Mike Mueller and Dan Wheeler. Miller's Kopellah car is owned by Mike Gibson and crewed by Gibson, Roy Miller and Jayson Shykes. The car is sponsored by Dairy Queen, Action Battery and Matrix Chassis.
“I'm lucky to have all these opportunities to race cars owned by friends at two NASCAR tracks every week,” Miller said. “Not many guys have the chance to race at both tracks in two different divisions. The chassis are the same but the engines and transmissions are different. The tracks are challenging and very different. Cedar Lake is a fast banked track and Kopellah is a flat and traction is at a premium. Either way, the competition is stiff. We draw for heat race starting position and redraw for the features.
“I've raced all over, up to 106 races one year, and the NASCAR sanction here makes a difference to drivers. The people who run the tracks seem to work with their drivers better,” Miller said. “I think we'll get enough races in to be contenders at the end of the season.”
Miller has been driving race cars for two decades, originally on Minnesota dirt tracks. He started driving at about the same time his dad stopped.
“I went to races with dad as long ago as I can remember,” Miller said. “I helped him until I turned 16 and I started racing and he helped me.”
He built race car chassis branded with the RPM name while still in Minnesota. Later he built Super Stock chassis branded RPM Motorsports and then settled into the Matrix name building dirt Modifieds. He figures he has built about 125 cars in all. Today, he produces about five new Modifieds a year, which allows him time to work on past and present customer cars.
As a mechanic for Barole Trucking Company, he also maintains trucks that carry cargo ship containers.
The NASCAR Finalist points structure is the same as the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series featured division at each track. The feature winner receives two points for every car in the feature up to 20. Second place receives two fewer points and that distribution continues through the field. Race winners receive five additional bonus points. For example, if there were 20 cars in the feature, the winner would receive 45 points, second gets 38 and third 36. If there are 15 cars the winner receives 35 points, second gets 28 and third 26.
At season's end, the top driver in each of the four asphalt and four dirt NASCAR divisions will receive invitations to the 2010 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series awards banquet December 10 in the Crown Ballroom in the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C. where they will be recognized.

Sarver, PA (July 15, 2010) The day every local 410 Sprint Car fan looks forward to at the Action Track is less than one week away. And if the fans are fired up, you can imagine how anxious the local drivers are to stake their claim as Silver Cup Champion. Local drivers of today, as well as a few that have moved on to greener pastures, are taking aim at a potential $30,000 payday at next Tuesday, July 20's Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XIX Twin 30s.
From 2002 Silver Cup Champion Ed Lynch Jr. and 2005 Silver Cup Champion Tim Shaffer, to current Budweiser Points Leader Danny Holtgraver and Defending Track Champion Rod George and from brothers Dave and Dale Blaney to Mike Lutz and World of Outlaws regular Brian Ellenberger, drivers with Western PA/Eastern OH roots are geared up for the 19th installment of the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup!
And, as was the case in 2009, the Silver Cup is the only event all year, anywhere in the country, to see two World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Features in the same night; to see “The Best Go Four Abreast” twice in the same night; and to hear the iconic Johnny Gibson proclaim, “Lernerville Speedway you wanted the best, you got them four abreast! Often imitated, never duplicated, the Greatest Show on Dirt, the WORLD OF OUTLAWS!”
Leading up to the Silver Cup, the World of Outlaws, (and quite possibly a few of our own local products), will take action in neighboring Ohio starting on Wednesday, July 14 with the Brad Doty Classic at Limaland Motorsports Park. Then, teams will make the short 50 mile haul south to the famed Eldora Speedway for two nights of racing; starting with Friday night's running of the “Knight Before the King's Royal” and then Saturday night's $50,000-to-win 27th Annual Kings Royal. After all the dust has settled at Limaland and Eldora, teams will pack up their cars and haul 323 miles east to Don Martin's Lernerville Speedway to take their shot at one of the two $15,000-to-win, 30-lap feature events of the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XIX Twin 30s.
Having “Slayed the Beast” once, “The Apollo Rocket” Ed Lynch Jr. longs to taste the sweet victory of a Crown Jewel win at his home track; where he has won over 100 features during his illustrious career! Last year, Lynch started the night by laying down the fourth quick time of the night with a lap of 12.890, finished second in his heat and fifth in the dash. After starting fourth, he raced hard and pocketed a solid eight place finish in the first feature, followed by a 16th place finish in the second feature capping off another solid Silver Cup performance.
But Lynch Racing is not looking for solid performances; they're looking for checkered flags and big checks! And if recent trips around the Action Track are any indication, Lynch is primed to add a second Silver Cup to his treasured trophy collection!
Lynch drives his way into the 2010 edition of the Silver Cup peaking his famed #2L at the right time. In the last month, Lynch has picked up a pair of victories in the Ti22 Performance DIRTcar Sprints at Lernerville; including the Mid-Season Championship on Friday, June 18 and the Silver Cup provisional that goes along with it! He has also scored wins at Mercer Raceway Park, and most notably during PA Speedweek at Bedford Speedway against the always challenging Pennsylvania Posse!
For Danny Holtgraver, last year's Silver Cup was bittersweet! On one hand, it was a monumental break through for the young driver from the North Hills of Pittsburgh. On the other, Holtgraver just missed out on the lead lap inversion of the second feature, and as such, starting on the front row of the famed four-wide salute to the fans!
Holtgraver shocked the clock during time trials with a lap of 13.035 seconds, placing him 13th overall and earning him the pole in his heat. He finished fifth in his heat and transferred directly into the A-Main for the first time in his young career against the World of Outlaws. And, as mentioned above, while he just missed out on the lead lap inversion, Holtgraver gained valuable big race experience while finishing 22nd and 23rd in the Twin 30s. That experience against the Outlaw Elite was a springboard to his breakout 2010 season!
So far during his breakout campaign of 2010, Holtgraver has chalked up wins at Mercer Raceway Park and most recently at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway (PPMS) this past Saturday Night during the “Flight of the Phoenix” Sprint Car special event. Easily the biggest win of his blossoming career, the big win at PPMS pocketed Holtgraver $2,500 and some much needed confidence heading into the biggest race of the year. But the most impressive part of his 2010 breakout campaign is that he currently sits atop the current Budweiser Point Standings at Lernerville Speedway. Holtgraver also leads the division in National Guard Heat Race wins, top ten finishes, top five finishes and top three finishes. He just hasn't quite found his way to Sheetz Victory Lane yet!
Other than Ed Lynch Jr, the only local driver to cash in on a bigger payday in 2010 than Danny Holtgraver is Mike Lutz. Lutz took home $3,600 last Wednesday night after dominating the Lou Blaney Memorial Classic at Sharon Speedway. He did so by beating Lynch, Shaffer, Holtgraver and both Blaneys, not to mention Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and several World of Outlaws and All Stars regulars. Lutz was flat out dominant and is looking forward to equal success at the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup!
2005 Silver Cup Champion Tim Shaffer is always a threat to win at the Action Track! The 1993 Track Champion has been a regular on the World of Outlaws and All Star Circuit of Champions tours for most of the past two decades, but has never forgotten the quick way around the Action Track. In fact, the “Steel City Outlaw” has feature wins with the All Stars in each of the past two seasons at Lernerville Speedway.
The most recent All Star feature winner at Lernerville Speedway is the “Low Rider” Dale Blaney who took the checkered flag on Friday, June 4, after winning a Ti22 Performance DIRTcar Sprint feature win during Fab Four Racing two weeks earlier. Blaney, Lernerville's 1991 Track Champion, has also won multiple All Star Championships and several World of Outlaws feature events; including Wednesday, July 14's Brad Doty Classic at Limaland Motorsports Park!
But despite the successes of Ed Lynch Jr., Tim Shaffer and Dale Blaney and the recent big wins of Danny Holtgraver and Mike Lutz, the star of Tuesday Night's Silver Cup will undoubtedly be Dale's brother and NASCAR star Dave Blaney. Blaney has recently returned to his racing roots by strapping into a 410 sprint car for the first time in over a decade. Blaney has been a NASCAR regular for almost 15 years, but has been driving the Gene Jenkins and Scott Mertz owned #55 sprint car at higher paying local . Dave won a feature his first night in the car on a Western PA speedway on the Fourth of July at Tri-City Speedway. He drove again last week at his own track in the race that honored the memory of his late, great father; the Lou Blaney Classic. Winner of the 1995 World of Outlaws Championship, as well as 70 World of Outlaws A-Main features, Blaney has not raced competitively with the series since 1997 and has not won a race at Lernerville Speedway since October 11, 1989! But all eyes will be on the “Buckeye Bullet” as he makes his return to one of the tracks that helped launch his extremely successful racing career.
Defending Track Champion Rod George has had a recent run of bad luck, having flipped at Lernerville two weeks ago and then having a tire rip off the rim during his heat race at Sharon last Wednesday that put him behind the eight ball all night long. But he does have two feature wins this season and 42 for his career, so he's always a factor!
The Silver Cup is an annual homecoming for 2009 World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award winner Brian Ellenberger. Visits to the Lernerville Speedway are now extra special with his primary sponsor, Ti22 Performance, also being the title sponsor of the DIRTcar Sprints during the weekly Fab Four Racing program. Ellenberger spent a couple off weekends at the Action Track earlier in the season with the dual purpose of supporting his sponsor and at the same time get dialed in for the twin $15,000-to-win, 30-lap Silver Cup features. In doing so, Ellenberger picked up a feature win on Opening Night and a second place finish on April 23.
Regardless of which local driver or driver with local roots you cheer for, you have to see the only event with two features in one night! The Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XIX Twin 30s are a must see and tickets are on sale now! Buy your advance tickets before Monday, July 19 and receive a FREE pit pass upgrade! Mid-Season Championships Saturday at South Buxton
Ridgetown's Dale Glassford and Blenheim's Shawn Jones will start on the pole in their Mid-Season Championship races this Saturday at South Buxton Raceway.
The line ups for the Mid-Season Championship races will be determined by the order of points after the completion of the pursuit races on Saturday.
A maximum of 30 points are available if a driver sweeps both the heat and pursuit races, which means Glassford and Jones have already secured the number-one starting positions for their features.
Glassford holds a 79-point lead over Chatham's Brad Authier in the Dover Sanitation UMP Late Model standings.
Authier will start on the outside pole in the Late Model feature as the six-time track champion has a 58-point lead over third-place Chatham's Jason Haskell.
Jones has a 54-point advantage over Cottam's Rob Quick in the Four Seasons Driver Education standings. Chatham's Rick Balasin goes into Saturday 13 points behind Quick with Cottam's DeSerrano 16 points back as three drivers still have shots at the outside pole for the Comp 4 feature.
The pole for the Schinkels Gourmet Meats UMP Modified division will go right down to the wave of the checkered flag at the end of the pursuit race to determine the first three starting positions as four points separate the top three drivers.
Seven-time track champion Brad McLeod moved atop the Modified standings as he holds a two-point edge over six-time series champion Jim Dale Jr. of Shrewsbury with Chatham's C.J. Field another two points back in third.
Dale Jr. held the points lead for the first seven weeks before Field took over the points lead for one week.
The pole in the Windride Transportation Services is in the hands of Essex's Doris Lajeunesse, who has a 17-point lead over Chatham's Eric Vanderiviere. Gerald Martin of Essex is all but assured of a second-row starting position as he is 24 points behind Eric Vanderiviere but 21 points up on fifth-place Eren Vanderiviere.
Merlin's Steve Shaw, last week's feature winner, sits fourth in points as he will be looking for the eighth Mid-Season Championship of his long career.
The Mid-Season Championship races will be extended by five laps, as the Late Models, Modifieds and Sport Stocks will all run 25 laps while the Comp 4s will run 20.
This is the first Mid-Season Championship night since 2008, when Dale Jr. won both the Late Model and Modified features while Wallaceburg's Gary Vyse won the Sport Stocks and Leamington's Brandon Windsor the Comp 4s.
Three of the divisions are assured of new Mid-Season champions as Dale Jr. is only running a Modified this year while Vyse and Windsor are not racing.
The grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. with racing starting at 7 p.m.

Brewerton, NY - July 15, 2010 - Opening day in the 2nd Annual DIRTcar All-Star Weekend speedfest at Brewerton Speedway produced a fitting finish with the winningest Big-Block Modified drivers on the circuit this season crossing the line 1-2.
'Super Matt' Sheppard charged past pole-sitter Jimmy Phelps on a lap 11 restart, then held off the 'B'Ville Blizzard' to score his Super DIRTcar Series-high third win of 2010 in the headline Longhorn Trucking 50 at the D-Shaped Dirt Demon.
“This is a big weekend for us and its already starting out great,” beamed Sheppard, who just turned 28 on Monday, after scoring his division-best 11th feature win of the season and his fourth of the year at Brewerton. “This is the way you want to start it out, hopefully it ends the same way too.”
Sheppard pocketed a cool $3,000 at
Sheppard Launches All-Star Weekend With 'Longhorn 50' Win At Brewerton
Brewerton on Thursday and is now clearly the favorite to carry the momentum back to nearby Cayuga County Fair Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y. to close out All-Star Weekend II at the home of DIRTcar Northeast. A second 50-lap preliminary event pays out another $3 grand on Friday while the Saturday evening fairgrounds finale dishes out $20,000 to the winners in twin-25-lappers and a 50-lap nightcap.
Phelps faded back to finish five car-lengths behind Sheppard in the Brewerton main, with open-wheel veteran Pat Ward claiming third-place ahead of defending overall Hoosier Tire-VP Racing Fuels Mr. DIRTcar Champion Brett Hearn and Steve Paine, who edged Billy Decker on the last lap to end Decker's streak of eight consecutive Top-5 tallies on tour.
A solid showing of 39 Modified machines helped fill the pits with World of Outlaws Late Model Series title contender Tim McCreadie making his first appearance of the season on tour utilizing a Small-Block powered Modified owned by Vinny Salerno. Western New Yorker Randy Chrysler was the only other driver to steer a 358-Modified, and it was a 15th-place finish by McCreadie that earned him an automatic starting berth in the 358-Modified Championship held during Super DIRT Week in October. by Tommy Goudge (July 15, 2010) - London Ontario's Ryan Litt and the #07L BS&B Radiatior/OTC Tools Sprint Car team spent their holiday weekend at the races, and came away with their first feature win of the season. After a weekend off, they're ready to get back on track and continue their streak of good runs this Saturday.
Friday, July 2nd found Ryan and the team at the Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan for an Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints series event. Ryan started the night by qualifying second in the time trial session with a 12.492 second lap.
Jason Blonde had the lead in the feature with a few laps to go when Chad Goff blew his engine and brought out a caution flag. On the restart, Ryan was able to get by Jason for his first feature win of the season.
"It was a great weekend for us. The Dixie race was unreal...it was the hardest I've ever worked for a win," says Ryan. "We got lucky with the caution and I was able to jump in front of Jay after a good two lap side by side battle with three laps to go."
Although he's raced against multiple-time Sprint Car champion Jason Blonde and many other talented racers for quite a few years now, Ryan still gets a thrill out of racing with them.
"(Jason) is one of the most underrated drivers out there, so it was a big thrill to race wheel-to-wheel with him, and eventually make the pass," says Ryan. "There is nothing better than good hard racing and it makes it even better when you can do it with a talented driver who you know will race you clean."
Ryan qualified fourth the next night at Owosso Speedway, and started seventh in the thirty lap feature. He made his way to the front, but row five starters Jeff Bloom and Jason Blonde were fast as well. Bloom took the feature win with Blonde second and Ryan third.
"We had a good run at Owosso," says Ryan. "Definitely didn't have the best car but it was still a strong run for us. I think maybe with a caution it would have been a close battle between Bloom, Jay and myself."
A huge crowd turned up for the Owosso event, and it was announced a second AVSS event will be held at the mid-Michigan track in August.
"I also have to mention that Owosso had one of the fullest grandstands I have ever seen," says Ryan. "I literally couldn't spot one open seat - that's awesome!"
This weekend Ryan and the BS&B team head to Kalamazoo Speedway in Kalamazoo, Michigan for the fifth round of the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series season. Ryan heads into the weekend ranked fifth in series points. Ryan has competed in just one prior event at "The Zoo", a high-banked three-eighths mile track. That event was back in 2006, and Ryan finished fourteenth, while another race was rained out the same year.
"I don't have much experience at Kalamazoo, but we seem to really have the car working good lately," says Ryan. "Hopefully we can get it locked down early on and make some small adjustments. It is a small track so I think once again starting position is going to be a factor, as the field is really close in speed this year. It really takes a good car to come from mid pack to the front."
Ryan is looking for a Supermodified ride for the Sandusky Hy-Miler Nationals coming up next weekend, and Delaware Classic Weekend in August. If interested, please contact

RYAN LITT: WINNING WEEKEND, AND A TRIP TO THE ZOO!
TORONTO - Andrew Ranger already had a few NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 firsts in his pocket and now he has another by winning the pole position in the series' inaugural visit to Toronto.
The Roxton Pond, Que., driver earned the right to start on the pole for Saturday's Jumpstart 100 at Exhibition Place. He navigated the 11- turn, 1.765-mile street course in 76.659 seconds for an average speed of 80.820 mph.
It is his seventh series career pole and the second of the season after having started on the pole at Mosport International Raceway in June.
Coincidentally, the winner of that Mosport race was JR Fitzpatrick, who will start alongside Ranger on Saturday afternoon. Fitzpatrick, out of Cambridge, Ont., registered a lap time of 77.104 seconds (80.354 mph).
The two drivers have battled numerous times on road courses since the series' inception in 2007 with Ranger earning six victories and Fitzpatrick has four.
The second row for the Jumpstart 100 will be occupied by DJ Kennington, the current NASCAR Canadian Tire Series point standings leader and Jason Bowles, the reigning NASCAR K&N Pro Series West champion. Bowles has four NASCAR touring series road-course wins to his credit, as well.
The balance of the top-10 starters is Anthony Simone, Kerry Micks, Don Thomson Jr., Trevor Seibert, Mark Dilley and Scott Steckly.
TSN's live coverage of the Jumpstart 100 will begin at 2:30 p.m. ET with the green flag scheduled to wave at 2:45 p.m.

July 16, 2010 (London, Ontario)
The first NASCAR Late Model race since the Delaware Summer Showdown, and this one for points, ran caution-free for 35 exciting laps. It began bookended by Robblees. Matt's #51 had the pole and his father, defending champ Steve, ran one lap in the 28 to gather points for starting before taking it to the pits.
Scott Lindsay (20) took the lead at the second lap and fought off Jonathan Urlin (04) for a couple of dozen laps before Urlin made it out front at lap 27. Ron Sheridan stayed on Urlin's heels and also moved up a spot. Sheridan would have loved to rack up another feature win but he told announcer Jamie Maudsley after the race that, “I had nothing left for him (Urlin) at the end.”
Urlin rode to Victory Lane in his Siskins sponsored car on the law firm's sponsored night. Sheridan was second, Lindsay came in third.
Disappointment for Stephen Richmond during Super Stocks practice but it was lessened because of the generosity of a pal. Richmond broke an axle on his #24 and crashed into the wall at turn 4. The car sustained enough damage to keep it out of the feature race. But Andrew Perkins stepped up and offered his car to Richmond so he could gather some points. The #3 was hastily renumbered 24 and Richmond was back in the game. (Perkins and Richmond came up together through Delaware's Junior Racing League.) About one-third of the way into the Super Stocks feature, the 3/24 got a couple of flat tires and Richmond decided to call it a night.
An unusual sight early in the first Super Stocks heat. The #69 of Kris Root was tagged and sent flying backwards, smack into the front of the Delaware Safety Truck. No one was hurt but Whitworth Towing had to come by and separate the vehicles. The delay gave Root enough time to get his car repaired and back out when the heat resumed. The Safety Truck stayed on duty with a crumpled front bumper.
It was a night of vindication for Delaware Super Stocks driver Jason Lidster (11) who was denied a win last week on a call by officials.
The Super Stocks feature started with Rob Windis out front. Two cautions - one at lap 2 and one on that caution's restart - both involved Dave Chant (19) and the second took (74) Al Bowman out of the race.
At lap 5, Windis had an increasingly cushy lead as Devon Bloemendal (66) lost the battle to keep his 3rd position and within a lap, had fallen to 6th.
At lap 8 a dramatic crash occurred on turn 3. Kris Root (69) spun and Jake Ott (60) and Matt Humphrys (04) ran into him giving the clean-up crew and Whitworth Towing plenty to do. One side of Ott's car was nearly sheared off and Humphrys went to the pits but Root got back out to race.
Last week's feature winner, Jeremy Reid, took enough damage in that scrap to end his night.
A new leader at lap 10 - Jason Lidster (11) with Kris Lawrence pulling ahead of Windis to take second. At lap 14 the 99 of Scott Nagy took a solo spin and brought out Sharpie's yellow flag again.
Another minor tangle involving Ott on turn 3 brought out another caution at lap 14.
With Lidster and Lawrence fairly secure in their positions, the battle for the right to join them on Victory Lane featured a half dozen drivers over 11 laps. Third place went to Scott O'Connor.
In Demar Aggregates Trucks, Gary Triska (57) had the pole but it only took a lap and a half for Devon Bloemendal (01) to take the lead. Division points leader Paul Fothergill (33) bulleted from14th place to take second at lap five and by then Bloemendal had a half-a-straightaway lead.
The scoreboard showed Jordan Dupuis in third but there was a whole lot of pavement separating him from the two leaders. Fothergill closed the gap by the halfway point and spent about a lap side-by-side with Bloemendal before capturing the lead at lap 18.
Dupuis took some bumps from Jeff Showler (56) for third as Fothergill lost the lead to Bloemendal at lap 21 after getting snarled in lap traffic.
A caution at lap 22 as Derek Clark (7) and Craig Marche (15) made contact just off turn two. Clark took a spin through the pits and was able to rejoin the race when the green came back out and raced with a dislocated shoulder and no power steering left.
Lap 23 saw Fothergill reclaim the lead and he kept it through the checkered flag. Bloemendal's error cost him a top-three place, landing fourth. Jordan Dupuis was second, Jeff Showler, third.
Last week's winner, Michelle Koricina, finished 9th.
