Evoy Comes Within a Lap of Back to Back Wins At Brockville Speedway
Craig Revelle - Finish Line Web Design
July 28, 2010
The Evoy's made the drive to the Mohawk Raceway on Friday night despite the persistent light rain that was falling for most of the trip. By the time the team arrived at the track, the rain had stopped, but only for a short period as the rain resumed during the warm up laps for the Sportsman division. Track officials looked at the radar and made the decision to cancel their racing program for the night.
Saturday turned out to be nice early in the day, but once again rain moved into the area in the early afternoon. Virtually everywhere in the area reported rain, but the Brockville Ontario Speedway managed to get their race in the books. Evoy started the 20 lap Sportsman feature from the 14th position, and when the green flag dropped 17 year old Dylan Evoy wasted little time proving he had one of the best cars of the night. Before the completion of the first lap Evoy had already moved into the top ten, and just three laps later he was up to fifth. On a lap four restart, Evoy took off from the fifth position and continued to work his way to the front. Just two laps after the restart another yellow was displayed, and this time Evoy had his car in the second position. On the ensuing restart Evoy took the lead, and held the top spot for next few laps. Evoy lost the lead on a restart on lap 11, but regained the top spot just a few laps later. With four laps to go Evoy still had the lead, but the second and third place cars were getting closer to the Evoy car. On the final lap, Evoy lost the lead, and slipped to third place.
“The car began to get really tight at the end of the race”, says Evoy. “We needed to keep the car on the bottom of the track, but we were unable to do so. The car was perfect in the first part of the race, and the track was in great shape tonight”.
This coming weekend Evoy will have their Ogilvie's Auto & Fleet Service, Fireball Performance Automatics, Nan's Kitchen, RONA, Robotic & Process Automation, Subway, Linde, Unity Savings, RipNET, Charleston Lake Auto Service, Canadian Tire, Thousand Islands Concrete, Pennzoil and NGK Spark Plugs Bicknell car ready for another pair of events beginning with the Mohawk Raceway on Friday night and then back to the Brockville Speedway on Saturday. The Evoy Racing Team will also have the 83 car on display at the 1000 Islands Street Machine Association (TISMA) Car Show on Sunday August 1st in Brockville.
Evoy Racing 2010 apparel is still available at the track on race nights. Stop by the Evoy trailer after the races and pick up your t-shirt or sweatshirt. You can also contact us at ronevoy@ripnet.com. T-shirts are $20 and Sweatshirts are $30.
To stay up to date with Dylan Evoy and Evoy Racing log on to the team website at

. The website is updated weekly and it also contains information on Evoy Racing and Dylan as well as direct links to our sponsor's websites.
The Evoy Racing team from Brockville, Ontario had a couple of races scheduled this past weekend, beginning with Friday night at Mohawk Raceway and Saturday night at their home track, Brockville Ontario Speedway. The Evoy team has been on fire lately, finishing in the top five in eight of their past nine races, including a win at Mohawk Raceway in that stretch dating back to early June and the recent win at Brockville.

MODIFIED SUPER DIRTcar SERIES: BIG-BLOCK BLAST
Weedsport, NY - July 28, 2010
No. 88 Realtree Outfitters Chevrolet/No. 7 GoDaddy.com/HowDoYou.com Chevrolet
EVENT - U.S. Cellular 250 (200 laps / 137 miles)
TRACK - Iowa Speedway (.875-mile oval)
DATE - Saturday, July 31, 2010
TV / RADIO - ESPN2 (coverage begins at 7:00 p.m. EST) / MRN (broadcast begins at 7:00 p.m. EST)
Steve Arpin
No. 88 Realtree Outfitters Chevrolet
“It's really special to be able to drive the Realtree Outfitters Chevrolet for Bill Jordan, the folks at Delta Apparel, and everyone at JR Motorsports this weekend. I know all the guys at JRM are thrilled to have the Realtree Outfitters brand on the No. 88 again, and we're pumped for the race at Iowa. Both Realtree and Bill Jordan have a long history in NASCAR and with the Earnhardt family and we want to do them proud.
“Iowa is a track I raced on in ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America), but driving the Nationwide car there will be a new experience for me. I will tell you it's a state-of-the-art facility. The folks up there should be really proud of what they built. It's an awesome place. As the defending race winners, this Realtree Outfitters team will have some pressure on us. We're definitely up to the challenge though, and look forward to a chance at getting the Realtree Outfitters Chevrolet its first win of the season.”
Josh Wise
No. 7 GoDaddy.com/HowDoYou.com Chevrolet
“I'm excited to have another short track race on the schedule this weekend. I think this GoDaddy.com/HowDoYou.com team learned a couple things about our short track program last week that we can take with us and build on for Iowa. This will be my first trip out there, so I've been busy this week watching past race footage and using my racing simulator to get adapted.
“The month of July has been busy for everyone at JRM. Driving in three consecutive races this month has meant a lot to me. The GoDaddy.com/HowDoYou.com team has really jelled over the past few weeks. I'm at the shop a lot, and I see all the effort Tony [Eury] Jr. and all the guys put in these race cars. I think anything short of a top 10 this week will be disappointing for everyone. We know what this team can do and where we need to be running. Hopefully all goes well this weekend, and we grab another deserving finish for this No. 7 team.”

JR MOTORSPORTS TEAM PREVIEW
Snapping his unprecedented streak of four consecutive runner-up finishes on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, Lanigan kicked off the national tour's Ohio-Pennsylvania Speedweek on Tuesday night with a victory in the 'Fear The Bear 40' at Central PA Speedway.
Lanigan, 40, of Union, Ky., advanced from the third starting spot to take the lead from Chub Frank of Bear Lake, Pa., on lap six and never looked back. Racing in front of a standing-room-only crowd that turned out for the first-ever WoO LMS event at Tim Bainey Sr.'s four-tenths-mile oval, the 2008 tour champion survived four caution flags and an early threat from Shane Clanton of Fayetteville, Ga., to register his long-awaited second series win of 2010.
Clanton settled for second place in his RSD Enterprises Rocket car, a distant 2.308 seconds behind Lanigan's GottaRace.com Rocket at the finish. Fifth-starter Steve Francis of Ashland, Ky., was several car lengths farther back in third at the checkered flag in his Valvoline Rocket, Rick Eckert of York, Pa., placed fourth after running as high as second in his Team Zero by Bloomquist mount and defending WoO LMS champion and current points leader Josh Richards of Shinnston, W.Va., completed the top five with a steady-but-quiet run in his Seubert Calf Ranches Rocket.
“It feels great to get that second-place jinx off us,” said Lanigan, who finished second in all four A-Mains contested during the recent 'Wild West Tour.' “Our car's been good, but we just needed a little luck. Maybe things changed a little bit for the better tonight.”
Lanigan earned $8,600 for his 14th career WoO LMS victory and first since March 19 at Ocala (Fla.) Speedway. He scored nine runner-up finishes between his two wins this season, including six in the 10 races prior to Tuesday's stop at Central PA.
Lanigan's post-race prizes also included one of the track's trademark three-foot-tall wooden 'Big Bear' carvings and a fresh six-pound cheeseburger from Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, the local restaurant that has earned national attention for its menu featuring out-sized burgers.
Now a winner of two A-Mains in each WoO LMS campaign since 2004, Lanigan felt very comfortable circling Central PA Speedway for the first time in his career.
“This track kind of fit our program pretty good - big track with sweeping, wide corners,” Lanigan said of Central PA, which operated with a paved surface for 20 years until being covered by dirt prior to the 2006 season. “The setup we've been running lately works good on a place like this. I could just run through the middle without a problem.”
Lanigan was only briefly challenged by Clanton, who needed just six laps to hustle from the ninth starting spot to second. He vaulted from fifth to second in a single lap following a lap-six restart and nearly ran into the rear bumper of Lanigan's car when he charged hard off the outside of turn four on lap 13, but that was as close as he got to the lead.
Clanton, 34, lost second to Eckert on a lap-15 restart. He regained the position on lap 21 and stayed there to the finish, but he couldn't summon the speed to compete with Lanigan.
“He went a little harder on right-rear tire than I did,” Clanton said of Lanigan. “I knew where we were starting we had to go at the beginning. I thought I could get (past Lanigan) and then just ride, but I didn't - and then at the end I just had to ride behind him.”
Lanigan's victory moved him within 36 points of Richards in the WoO LMS points standings after 29 of a scheduled 47 events. Tim McCreadie of Watertown, N.Y., was left 26 points behind Richards in second after settling for a ninth-place finish.
Rookie Austin Hubbard of Seaford, Del., finished sixth, slipping forward from the 11th starting spot. Frank faded to a seventh-place finish after starting on the pole and leading laps 1-5, while his cousin, Rick 'Boom' Briggs, also of Bear Lake, Pa., was eighth to earn the $500 'Bonus Bucks' cash for being the highest-finishing driver who has never won a WoO LMS A-Main and wasn't among the top 12 in the points standings. McCreadie moved up just one spot to finish ninth and 17th-starter Clint Smith of Senoia, Ga., rounded out the top 10.
There were no serious incidents during the race. Cautions were caused by Todd Snook of Mifflin, Pa., who slid off the track on lap six; D.J. Myers of Greencastle, Pa., who stopped in turn two on lap 15; and Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, Pa., who lost a wheel on laps 20 and 34.
Richards was quickest in Ohlins Shocks Time Trials, earning his series-leading fourth fast-time honor of 2010 with a lap of 16.242 seconds.
Heat winners were Richards, Lanigan, Mike Knight of Ripley, N.Y., and Eckert, and the B-Mains were captured by Clint Smith and Satterlee.
The WoO LMS Ohio-Pennsylvania Speedweek continues on Wednesday night (July 28) at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio. After an off-day on Thursday, the swing visits Attica (Ohio) Raceway Park on Fri., July 30; Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio, on Sat., July 31; and Eriez Speedway in Hammett, Pa., on Sun., Aug. 1.

Seibert fourth in great NASCAR race in Edmonton Sunday
Williams Lake veteran continues to improve in season's third road race
July 26, 2010, WILLIAMS LAKE, BC -Trevor Seibert finished fourth in Edmonton, Alberta's, Canadian Tire 100 NASCAR race Sunday. The Williams Lake, British Columbia, racer continues to improve in his Lake Excavating/EMCO Waterworks-sponsored Dodge.
Seibert started fourth in a talented field of NASCAR Canadian Tire Series racers. He fought a spirited battle throughout the race vying for a podium spot.
“The car was great to drive,” said Seibert. “We keep getting better with every race, and I know we're close to contending for a win.”
After battling his way to third position by passing a fierce Kerry Micks, Seibert appeared to be cruising to the podium. Former series champion Scott Steckly spoiled those hopes making a bold pass into turn one on the final lap.
“Scott made a great move on the last lap,” said Seibert. “I could have gotten physical with him, but he raced me clean, and I returned the same respect.”
Seibert's results have improved with every race this season. After failing to finish in the top 10 at Mosport International Raceway Seibert scored a sixth place finish on the Exhibition Place course in Toronto.
The top five result in Edmonton brings great excitement to Avion Motorsports with plans to race four more events this season. The
next two races come on oval tracks near Vernon, British Columbia, and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, respectively, and the last two have Seibert returning to road courses where he excels.
Seibert will compete as a podium favourite at the technical course in Trois Rivieres, Quebec, and the famed Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Quebec, next month.
“I enjoy racing on the ovals,” said Seibert. “Our oval track program is making progress, but our best chance for a win is the road courses.”
Seibert has added reason to look forward to this weekend's Motoplex Speedway event near Vernon. Along with his entry in the A&W Cruisin' the Dub 300 Seibert will watch his son Ryley Seibert compete in the street stock event.
“Ryley hasn't raced the street stock much this year,” said Trevor. “He's been focusing on his late model in the ARCA Sportsman division, and he's doing great.
“I'm pretty confident he'll do well in his race. Then the pressure will be on for me to perform.”

McColm breaks through for top 10 result in Edmonton NASCAR event
July 26, 2010, AJAX, ON - Joey McColm achieved a main goal for 2010 with an impressive top-10 finish in NASCAR's Canadian Tire 100 Sunday in Edmonton, Alberta. The Ajax, Ontario, driver improved with every session on track in his WATCH IT!-sponsored Dodge peaking with a 10th place finish in the main event.
“It feels amazing to finally crack the top 10 on a road course,” said McColm. “We planned to take our time learning the track, and we conserved our race car until the race.
“I felt the car was much better than what we showed qualifying 13th. When the race started I knew right away I could move forward.”
McColm battled throughout the race for the 10th position with some of Canada's best stock car racers. The wide City Centre Airport circuit in Edmonton provided plenty of passing opportunities, and the combatants swapped spots frequently. In the end Mccolm took the checkered flag in 10th spot in the fifth race on the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series schedule.
“We raced hard, but I also feel like I learned a lot about racing on a road course as well. Congratulations to JR Fitzpatrick for his win and to Anthony Simone and Scott Steckly for their podium finishes.
“It was important for us to run strong for our sponsor WATCH IT! on the race car. I hope we can continue our success with two races remaining out west.”
McColm competes on Saturday at Motoplex Speedway near Vernon, British Columbia, and he will stop at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the following Wednesday for a rare midweek show with the series.
Nearing the midway point of the 13-race grind Mccolm sits just outside of the top-10 in season points.
